CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS! You will soon be walking across the stage and receiving your diplomas and moving on to adulthood. Senior year is fun but hectic and getting your privately shot senior photos is one of the perks. Getting the senior portraits section correct is the No. 1 priority of the yearbook staff but it can be a logistical nightmare to plan, manage and place all 300+ of these photos correctly. Please help us by following these instructions to get your preferred senior photo in the yearbook.

    Deadline for submission November 30.

    SPECIFICATIONS:

    1. Digital photos are now REQUIRED.
    2. Digital photos should be 300 dpi and no smaller than 2.25”by 3”. They can be larger, these are minimum specs.
    3. Please rename the photo file with your name
    4. E-Mail photo to the yearbook adviser J.D. McIntire. Type your preferred name in the body of the email as well.
    5. Please double-check your email a day or two later for a confirmation that we received your photo.
  • DO DON’T

Submit a photo. If you don’t submit a photo, we will use your student body picture. You don’t have to have a professional photographer shoot your pic.

Forget that the yearbook photo is just one part of your senior photos. You can take many photos from any angle doing anything and wearing anything. But the one you submit to the yearbook must follow our rules.

Meet the deadline. If it’s December, you’re late.

Send in a screenshot of your photo. Send the actual photo file. Download from your photographer’s website, attach it to an email.

Submit a well-lit photo with your face clearly identifiable. Avoid harsh sun or shadows.

Pose too close or too far away. It’s not Snap- chat. Back up, send a head and shoulders shot.

Submit a VERTICAL pose. Look at you school ID card. Photos are that shape.

Forget to re-check email for confirmation note.

Follow school dress code. Body “coverage” is important. No clothes with drug/alcohol references. Crop tops are an issue.

Digitally distort your photos. No weird Photo- shop effects. Reality shots only.

After you email your photo, check back in a day or two for a confirmation email that it was received

Forget that the Oregon Department of Education has banned a number of symbols from schools. This includes the confederate flag. The yearbook is a school publication, it must follow these guidelines.

Send ONE photo in not multiple poses.

Ask questions before the deadline. We want to help you get the photo you want in the book.
