AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY I

Entry Level: 9

Length: Semester

This is an introductory course that will address these skills:

  • Basic shop safety
  • Tool recognition and use
  • Four stroke engine components
  • Four stroke engine process
  • Disassembly and reassembly of a single cylinder engine
  • Basic measuring of engine parts
  • Identifying engine parts of a single cylinder engine
  • Beginning Auto Skills:  tire work, oil changes, etc. 





 

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 2

Entry Level: 10

Length: Year

Prerequisite: Automotive Technology

The continued study of automotive skills aligned with Ford ACE learning objectives. 

  • Continued shop safety
  • Advanced tool recognition
  • Large engine tear down and rebuilds
  • Brake and suspension service work
  • Beginning vehicle diagnostics

 

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 3

Entry Level: 11

Length: Year

Prerequisite:Automotive Technology 2

The continued study of automotive skills aligned with Ford ACE learning objectives.

  • Advanced shop and tool safety
  • Introduction to diesel engines
  • Introduction to automatic transmissions and transmission repair
  • Continued vehicle diagnostics and vehicle repair
  • Engine performance and live engine labs 

 

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 4

Entry Level: 12

Length: Year  

Prerequisite: Automotive Technology 3

The continued study of automotive skills aligned with Ford ACE learning objectives. College credit can be earned through MHCC.
