ADVISORY 9 HECPS

Entry Level: 9

Length: Year

The purpose of Advisory is to support all students in their academic, social, and personal development.  Throughout the school year, students will develop and practice skills and habits essential for academic and personal success and will participate in various activities and service projects intended to foster positive relationships, as well as a sense of connectedness to school and the greater community. Content will be a combination of teacher led, and online activities. Freshman Advisory focuses on creating a supportive learning community, building skills for a successful transition to high school, and exploring postsecondary skills needed for success on students' own goals and aspirations for the future.

 

ADVISORY 10 HECPS

Entry Level: 10

Length: Year

The purpose of Advisory is to support all students in their academic, social, and personal development.  Throughout the school year, students will develop and practice skills and habits essential for academic and personal success and will participate in various activities and service projects intended to foster positive relationships, as well as a sense of connectedness to school and the greater community. Sophomore Advisory focuses on developing self-awareness and self-management to support personal and academic growth. Students will identify strengths and interests and explore careers and post-secondary education. Content will be a combination of teacher led, and online activities. Sophomore Advisory focuses on creating a supportive learning community, exploring post secondary skills needed for success based on students' own goals and aspirations for the future by developing self-awareness and self-management.

 

ADVISORY 11 PF

Entry Level: 11

Length: Year

The purpose of Advisory is to support all students in their academic, social, and personal development.  Throughout the school year, students will develop and practice skills and habits essential for academic and personal success and will participate in various activities and service projects intended to foster positive relationships, as well as a sense of connectedness to school and the greater community. Junior Advisory focuses on building positive, healthy relationships, resolving conflict, and making responsible decisions that impact their lives in positive ways. Content will be a combination of teacher led, and online activities. Students will be required to complete a condensed online course that highlights personal finance topics. Students will develop the knowledge and skills that are needed to be financially literate when they leave high school.

 

ADVISORY 12 PF

Entry Level: 12

Length: Year

The purpose of Advisory is to support all students in their academic, social, and personal development.  Throughout the school year, students will develop and practice skills and habits essential for academic and personal success and will participate in various activities and service projects intended to foster positive relationships, as well as a sense of connectedness to school and the greater community. Senior Advisory focuses on preparing students for the workplace and post-secondary education such as college and certificate or apprenticeship programs. Content will be a combination of teacher led, and online activities. Students will develop the knowledge and skills that are needed to be financially literate when they leave high school.
